A Little Wilder

How do we keep having fun together, even if we are 1,000 miles apart?

With technology and AI, it has never been easier. I think we should try it.

Two friends from behind in yellow swim caps with googly eyes, looking out over the water at a lighthouse on Grand Manan Island

We used to talk about an "event in a box."

Well, this is it. It is Brave Tarts, online.

A community that does one fun, slightly silly thing together once a month: a birthday done properly, a sound bath at sunset, a polar plunge in colourful caps. Then each person gets the whole kit to run it at home with their own friends. Props, menu, playlist, run-of-show and the invite, all done.

Our vision

Something that excites us, keeps us connected, and keeps us having fun for years to come.

This is a grassroots experiment. We start small and see where it goes.

One

Connected

A way for the three of us to keep creating, adventuring and laughing together, wherever we live.

Two

Special places

Gatherings in places worth the trip, and moments we will still be talking about years from now.

Three

Pays its own way

Whatever it earns covers what it costs, including the trips. If there is more, it funds the next special place.

The community: our target market

The friend who always plans the trip.

A community of interesting people doing interesting things. For those who believe adventure doesn't have an age limit, curiosity is contagious, and there's always something new worth trying.

What members get

  • A live community call once a month
  • Full access to the library of kits and recorded sessions
  • The host playbook
  • Invite and recap templates, plus checklists and production schedules
Subscription / membership fee Maybe multiple tiers. Fee to be discussed.
How people find us

Friends first. Reels to help the word travel.

No big launch and no ad budget. It spreads the way good news does: friend to friend.

One

Word of mouth

Every member is a planner with a circle of friends. The kit is made to be run at home, so each gathering is an invitation to the next one. A good night out is the best advertising we have.

Two

Personal invites

Members invite and share with their friends. A creative, personal invitation instead of a broadcast, so it feels like being asked to something special.

Three

Social media, mainly reels

Short, real moments: the caps, the sunset, the kit being opened. Reels let people see the fun before they are asked to join. It is our shop window.

A simple social media plan
Show, do not tellReal moments from our own gatherings. 15 to 30 second reels: the plunge, the sound bath, the unboxing.
Three kinds of postThe moment (the fun), the kit (how to run it) and the people (members and hosts, with their permission).
Steady, not constantTwo or three reels a week at most. The agents draft captions and schedules, and we approve every post.
Every reel has one askCome to the next call. A link to sign up, and a way to forward it to a friend.

We would know it is working when members bring friends, not when the follower count goes up.

Fun educational sessions

Some months the call is a skill, not a party.

Short, hands-on sessions where we try something new together. No experience needed. A good first theme: learning how to have fun with AI.

Home

Redesign your living room

Snap a photo, try three different looks, and decide what to move, paint or buy before you spend a dollar.

Garden

Plan your garden for spring

What to plant, where, and when, for your own climate and your own patch of sun.

Music

Make a song

Write the words, pick a style and hear it sung back. A birthday song for a friend is a good first try.

Video

Make a short video

Turn your photos and a few lines into a little film for a trip, a party or a surprise.

We make it live, so everyone leaves with something they made, not just something they heard. The recording goes in the library for members who could not be there.

The grown-up stuff

A little serious talk, so we can have a lot more fun.

Every so often we sit down with a qualified local guest and get our house in order. It is the least glamorous thing we will ever do together, and it is what lets us say yes to the trail, the plunge and the trip without a nagging worry in the back of our minds.

Wills Health care representation agreements Taxes Money

An occasional evening, not a weekly one. General information from licensed professionals, not advice, and the rules differ by province, state and country.

Why it stays small

It should feel like play, not like going back to a full-time job.

Once a month

One theme, one call. We work in seasons and build the kits in batches.

AI does the paperwork

Drafts of checklists, recaps, posts and invites. We add the voice and the magic, that special sauce.

We keep the fun part

Choosing themes, checking out new places and trying things out together.

How the AI part works

AI is a ladder. Most people stop at the first rung. We are climbing.

Asking a chatbot a question is the bottom rung: useful, but it forgets us every time. Agents are higher up. They remember us, have a job, and do the work in steps.

Rung 1

Ask

Type a question and get an answer. It starts from scratch every time.

Where most people are
Rung 2

Instruct

Give it instructions and examples, so it writes the way we would.

Rung 3

Remember

Give it a shared set of notes to read every time: our voice, our brand, past kits, our edits.

Where we start
Rung 4

Act

Each agent has one job and uses tools to do it in steps: research, draft, check, track.

Where we are aiming
Rung 5

Coordinate

A chief of staff agent hands out the work and keeps the plan. We approve every step.

Where we are heading
What an agent actually does
1

Reads our notes

Our voice, brand and past work.

2

Does its one job

Researches, drafts, builds, tracks.

3

Hands off

The next agent picks it up.

4

Waits for us

A person approves before it goes out.

One honest note: agents do not learn by magic. They improve because we keep their notes and examples up to date, and we add to them as we go. That habit is what turns "pretty good drafts" into "sounds like us."

The team

Six agents, one chief of staff, and three people in charge.

Each agent has one type of job. Together they cover the work, and none of them can act without us.

Chief of staff agent

Keeps the calendar of calls and seasons, hands out the work, and sends us one short weekly summary: what is drafted, what needs approval, what is stuck.

Makes things

Kit builder

Turns an approved theme into the full host kit: props, menu, playlist, run-of-show, checklist and invite.

Build first
Makes things

Content studio

Writes shot lists before an outing, drafts clips and captions afterward, and makes invitations and graphics from our brand kit.

Build second
Talks to people

Marketing

Sequences the posts, newsletter and invitations, and turns each call into a recap.

Build second
Finds things out

Ideas and scouting

Researches themes, places, trails, seasons and costs, and prepares each site-inspection checklist.

Build third
Keeps things running

Admin and finance

Tracks payments and costs, builds trip budgets, collects receipts, and keeps the renewals calendar.

When money moves
Talks to people

Member and host care

Welcomes new members, nudges new hosts, answers common questions, and flags the rest to a person.

Once we have members

The shared brain

Voice sheetBrand kitEvery finished kitOur edits, and whyWhat worked and what floppedOur guardrails
How it gets better

Every edit we make teaches the next draft.

This loop is why the work shrinks over time. The first few kits need the most of us. By the tenth, the agents know what we would change before we do.

1

We pick a theme

A person chooses it.

2

Agent drafts

From our notes and past kits.

3

We edit

Add the fun, the pixie dust magic.

4

The brain saves it

Our edit becomes a lesson.

5

Next draft is closer

Less to fix each time.

What we aim for
Kit 1
Kit 3
Kit 6
Kit 10
Our editing effort per kit. Illustrative: we will measure the real hours in the pilot.

It never gets to zero, and that is good.

There will always be something to approve, because the point is for it to sound like us. The aim is a few focused hours a month of reviewing, not evenings of writing from scratch.

The human part

The AI does the paperwork. We do the part people come for.

People join for other people. No agent can stand on the trail, make the right judgement call, or know how and when to add that magic to make a moment special.

Three friends on a deck above the ocean, each wearing a plush animal sleep mask on their head: a unicorn, an owl and a pig

Taste

What is funny, what feels like us, and what we would never say. We make the final call on every word and image.

Truth

Real places, real safety, real rules. We confirm them on site inspections, because an AI will sound sure even when it is wrong.

Warmth

The relational, human side, and the stories that go with it. Hosting the call and each session, and making every person feel welcome and special.

Our guardrails

Nothing goes out unreviewed. A person approves every post, email and invitation.

Money is prepared, never moved. Agents track and summarize. People approve every payment, and an accountant checks the numbers.

What we humans do

The agents draft. We decide, create and show up.

Roles and responsibilities. Who does what, and what we do together, we will work out later.

Role 1

Themes and hosting

The creative heart of each month.

  • Choose the themes
  • Add the fun and the pixie dust magic
  • Host the monthly call
  • Approve every kit before it goes out
Role 2

Trips and new places

Making sure the places are as good as they look.

  • Check out new places, test and film
  • Go on the site inspections
  • Check real places, safety and rules
  • Keep our hotel and tourism contacts warm
Role 3

Systems and money

The behind-the-scenes that keeps it running.

  • Keep the plan and the calendar
  • Run the website, sign-ups and email list
  • Track the money and approve every payment
  • Watch insurance, disclosure and consent

All three, together

We meet every week or two to plan the next call, the kit, marketing and logistics. We approve everything the agents prepare, and we decide whether it is still fun.

AN IDEA TO FLOAT: OUR FIRST IN-PERSON MEET-UP •

Why start from scratch? The Whistler Wellness Series already brings the sessions, the setting and the crowd together for a month in the mountains. We would join in, pick a few sessions, and invite the whole community to meet us there.

Whistler Wellness Series, Whistler, BC. Listed dates: June 4 to 28, 2027. Just an idea for now: nothing is arranged with the organizers.

Maybe we start with one community session a month, open to anyone. If it stops being fun, we stop.

We get to build it together, have fun, and go on site inspections, trips and events together. The three of us hop on a Zoom every week or two to plan the next session, review the marketing and logistics, build the kits and sort out whatever else comes up. Our aim is for the income to cover the costs, including:

This is only a starting place for discussion: to scheme, to dream and to have some fun. Names, fees and dates are still to be decided together.
